《耶路撒冷》(英语:Jerusalem)是英国一首爱国歌,音乐由休伯特·帕里于1916年编写而成,歌词则取自威廉·布莱克的短诗。
1808年,威廉·布莱克出版了他的长诗《弥尔顿》,其自序上有一首短诗[1]:
And did those feet in ancient time.
Walk upon Englands mountains green:
And was the holy Lamb of God,
On Englands pleasant pastures seen!
And did the Countenance Divine,
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here,
Among these dark Satanic Mills?
Bring me my Bow of burning gold;
Bring me my Arrows of desire:
Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold!
Bring me my Chariot of fire!
I will not cease from Mental Fight,
Nor shall my Sword sleep in my hand:
Till we have built Jerusalem,
In Englands green & pleasant Land
诗尾有摘自圣经的句子:"Would to God that all the Lords people were Prophets" Numbers XI. Ch 29. v.'[1]“惟愿上主的百姓都受感说话。”(民数记11:29)[2]。
此诗的灵感来自一个描述耶稣和亚利马太的约瑟(Joseph of Arimathea)一起到了格拉斯顿伯里(Glastonbury)的经外故事[3],而故事则源自圣经启示录(3:12及21:2)中耶稣将会再临世界并建立新耶路撒冷的概念。
对此诗最普遍的解释为:耶稣可能曾造访英格兰,令英格兰曾短暂变成天堂,但现时工业革命下的英格兰正被撒旦的面粉厂侵占,而布莱克则会抗争到底,令英格兰变回天堂的样子。
这首歌曾在1920年代成为英国争取女性投票权组织全国妇女选举权联盟的代表歌曲。
此歌现时在英国也非常受欢迎,会在不少场合演唱[注 1]。更因英格兰并无法定国歌,所以在很多的体育比赛中[注 2]会以此作为其国歌[注 3]。
因观众对此歌的熟悉,英国很多电影及电视剧均曾引用,如《烈火战车》的片名便是取自其中歌词。其他曾引用此歌的影视作品有《星空奇遇记:银河前哨》及《四个婚礼一个葬礼》等。
